Specifically designed plasmonic nanostructures (antenna and lens effect) will be fabricated onto a TiO2 photonic circuit and characterized to demonstrate directive coupling into a photonic mode at the single photon level. We will then investigate potentialities for quantum optical devices based on this on chip single photon circuitry, notably logical gates, by considering various photonic integrated circuits (beam splitters, interferometers&#8230;). Xiao, co-supervised by EPFL, will integrate the hybrid semiconductor metallic Yagi-Uda antenna on the HPP platform and characterize the full QD-HPP platform by cathodoluminescence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Expected Results:<\/strong><\/span> Design of the hybrid plasmonic-photonic platform (HPP). Controlled deposition of a single photon source within the HPP. Efficient (&gt;60% at room temperature) and directional (&gt;75%) coupling of single QD emission into the guided photonic mode.
